Emergency Contraception

Emergency contraception in Dublin 4 is available from our pharmacists without a prescription, provided you meet the necessary criteria. It is a safe and effective option if your regular contraception fails or if no contraception was used.

Emergency contraception works best the sooner it is taken after unprotected sex. It can be effective up to 120 hours (5 days) afterwards, but its effectiveness decreases over time.

At Murrays Ballsbridge Pharmacy in Dublin 4, emergency contraception is available free of charge to eligible patients aged 17 to 35 under the HSE Free Contraception Scheme. It is also available free of charge to eligible medical card holders.
