The examination will then commence.
The Pharmacist will take a sample from within your nose with a swab.
For a few seconds, your eyes may moisten and you may feel uncomfortable.
Our Pharmacists will next examine this sample for the presence of Covid -19.
Within 15 minutes, you will receive the results of your test.
A positive result indicates the presence of the Covid-19 virus in your sample.
It is recommended that you self-isolate if you have a positive test.
You should then make an appointment with your GP for an HSE PCR Covid test.
A negative result indicates that the virus was not discovered in your sample at that time. We will issue an EU certificate and your results can also be uploaded to the health passport worldwide that you have downloaded and registered with.
It’s crucial to keep in mind that Covid 19 Rapid Antigen Tests aren’t perfect.
Roche SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Assays are the tests we use.
These tests have a 99.2 percent specificity and a 95.5 percent sensitivity.
Here’s where you can learn more about the test.
Antigen tests are not as accurate as a PCR test and are designed to detect the virus at levels that are more likely to mean you are infectious and could spread the infection to others.
-The Rapid Antigen Test is not for people who have covid symptoms.
Please contact your GP to arrange a PCR Covid-19 test if you have Covid symptoms.
-People who recently arrived in Ireland from somewhere where the advice is to self -isolate
